France names squad for Davis Cup World Group quarterfinal

France has named the same team that beat Israel in the first round to face Argentina in the Davis Cup World Group Quarterfinal. That line up includes Jo Wilfried Tsonga, Richard Gasquet, Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra.

Argentina and France have met five times prior to this quarterfinal, with France winning all five meetings. The last time the two teams met was in Lyon, France in the 2010 semifinals and France comfortably won 5-0. This will be only the second time the two teams face off in Argentina, with France narrowly winning the last meeting in South America 3-2.

Argentina made easy work of Germany in the first round in Argentina, winning 5-0, though the match may not have been so one-sided had Philipp Kohlschreiber not been forced to retire in the opening rubber. Argentina, however, were without their No. 1 player, Juan Martin del Potro, meaning Juan Monaco led the charge. He did so successfully, comfortably winning both of his matches, Davis Cup official website reported.
