Expert says Eurasian Union envisages Slavic-Turkic confederation

Moscow will continue implementation of the Eurasian Union project, which envisages Slavic-Turkic confederation, political expert said.

Levon Shirinyan noted Russia’s desire to become a superpower to prove his point, stressing the need for Yerevan to further pursue balanced foreign policy.

“The authorities must set up a special committee of experts to seriously address the issue of EU membership and present the obligations Moscow must assume towards Yerevan,” the expert said, noting Russia as Armenia’s major strategic partner.

He further stressed the need for Armenia to build strategic relations, based on its state and national interests.
