Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington are buddy cops who don't quite trust each other in the first trailer for Universal Picture's "2 Guns", TheWrap said.

Director Baltasar Kormákur's ("Contraband") adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name features Wahlberg and Washington reluctantly joining forces to take down a Mexican drug cartel -- and even the CIA -- after discovering they are each working undercover for competing federal bureaus.

As the title suggests, there are lots of bing-bang-booms firing on all cylinders as the two heavily armed heroes shoot their way through an army of criminals and law enforcement officials while trying to clear their name.

"2 Guns" blasts into theaters on Aug. 2.
