Expert: opposition might get 55% votes at Yerevan city council polls

The post-election developments in Armenia haven’t affected Yerevan city council polls, head of Sociometer center said.

“The opposition parties would secure about 55% votes during Yerevan city council elections, if they formed an alliance ahead of the polls,” Aharon Adibekyan told a press conference.

“Sociometer center conducted a public opinion poll ahead of the electiosn, with 36,5% of the respondents voicing readiness to vote for the current mayor Taron Margaryan. 3,8% of the citizens said they will cast their votes for Prosperous Armenia party’s list and “Barev Yerevan” alliance. 22,1% said they were still undecided,” he said

“Taron Margaryan will get 45,1% of votes, if the undecided voters resolve to back Taron his rivals in case of 54,3% turnout,” the sociologist said.
