“Community” star McHale joins Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore romcomApril 15, 2013 - 18:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Community star Joel McHale is joining Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in Warner Bros.’ untitled romantic comedy being directed by Frank Coraci, The Hollywood Reporter said. The project, which initially was called Blended when it was set up as a pitch in 2007, centers on a man and a woman who, after a disastrous first date, get trapped at a family resort with their kids from previous marriages in tow. McHale will play Barrymore’s immature and skeezy ex-husband. Mike Karz, Jack Giarraputo and Sandler are producing. Josie Rosen and Barry Bernardi are exec producing. McHale currently is shooting A Friggin’ Christmas Miracle, a comedy that also stars Robin Williams and Lauren Graham. His NBC TV show, Community, is on the renewal bubble once again and its future remains unclear.
