France may lose Turkish contracts worth billions of euros if another bill on criminalization of the Genocide denial is introduced in National Assembly.

According to Chanllenges, the issue has been “marring Ankara-Paris relations for over 10 years.”

France seeks to ink a Sinop nuclear plant-related contract worth 17 billion euros. Also, Eurosam French-Italian manufacturer of anti-air missiles will be signing a 3 billion euro agreement for delivery of 117 А320 jets for Turkish Airlines.

Turkish officials are concerned that the Genocide bill may return on agenda in the framework of the transposition of the 2008 European directive on combating racism and xenophobia.

The April 24 Genocide Commemoration Day was suggested for possible presidential announcement; however, Hollande may initiate the redrafting of the Genocide bill in May or June.
