Two pilots killed as fighter jet crashes in Iran

PanARMENIAN.Net - An F-5 fighter jet crashed after hitting mountains near the western Iranian city of Abdanan, in Ilam province, killing both crew members, Press TV reported.

Abdanan governor Morad Naseri said the aircraft exploded after hitting the mountains on Sunday, April 21 morning. He added that both pilots were killed.

The official said that the fighter jet, which belonged to the Dezful air base, was being used for training at the time.

The exact cause of the crash has not been determined yet, but investigation is currently underway, he added.
