Baghdassaryan Noted Rather Satisfactory Level of Referendum Attendance
«I believe constitutional amendments have much significance and it is very important for each Armenian citizen to be able to take part in the referendum and make his/her choice, i.e. to do their duty,» Armenian National Assembly Chairman Artur Baghdassaryan stated in a conversation with journalists after taking part in the vote. In his words, already according to the date on noon the level of referendum attendance is rather satisfactory. «This evidences that a good propaganda campaign has been held and people were able to acquaint themselves with the content of the package of constitutional reforms. Finally, we should understand that constitutional amendments refer to the future eof our country,» the Armenian Speaker remarked. He also noted the importance of the fact that the draft of the constitutional reforms had passed a process of intense discussion in the country and outside it. «I think during 15 years our people did not know about the Constitution so many things as they came to know lately. There was active propaganda campaign launched both for and against and I suppose people were able to make a decision,» the Armenian National Assembly Chairman summed up.
