Chloë Moretz, Julianne Moore in Stephen King's “Carrie” new pics

New images from Kimberly Peirce's remake of Carrie have been released, Digital Spy said.

Chloë Moretz stars as ostracised high school student Carrie, a role made famous by Sissy Spacek in Brian de Palma's 1976 original.

After coming to realise that she has telekinetic abilities, Carrie is pushed over the edge by a humiliating prank on the night of her prom.

Julianne Moore also stars as Carrie's unstable, fanatically religious mother Margaret, who was played by Piper Laurie originally.

The film has been described as a "totally different" take on Stephen King's novel, with Moretz comparing its tone to that of Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan.

Carrie will open in the US on October 18, and in the UK on November 29, having been pushed back seven months from its originally planned release date.
