South Federal Okrug of Russia: 90% Backed Constitutional Amendments

PanARMENIAN.Net - 3037 Armenians residing in the South Federal Okrug of Russia took part in the constitutional referendum, RA Consul General in Rostov-on-Don Ararat Gomtsyan informed. In his words, people from the Rostov, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions and Northern Ossetia voted in Rostov-on-Don. "90% backed the amendments, since it will give them the opportunity to receive the Russian citizenship without losing the Armenian one," the Consul General said. Totally 4 polling stations functioned in the South Federal Okrug: 2 in Rostov-on-Don, 1 in Sochi and 1 in Volgograd.
