Paul Rudd in “Prince Avalanche” indie comedy trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - The first teaser for Prince Avalanche showcases a hint of indie-comedy charm without revealing too much of the plot, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The film is set in 1988 and revolves around two men, Alvin (Paul Rudd) and Lance (Emile Hirsch) who decide to find jobs as Texas road maintenance workers. Lance is the brother of Alvin's girlfriend.

"I can't say that I miss city life. Your brother, on the other hand, I think that you and the family need to think of something else as far as his occupation. He quite realistically can never amount to anything," Rudd conveys in a voiceover.

David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) is directing the film.

In a Sundance review, THR critic David Rooney found that the "bantering between these mismatched colleagues establishes a mood of minor-key comedy ... there’s soulfulness even in the film’s most lunatic moments."

The film, whose U.S. rights were acquired by Magnolia pictures at Sundance, is set for release in theaters on August 9.
