Guillermo del Toro’s sci-fi “Pasific Rim” unveils new trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - After receiving many requests from fans, director Guillermo del Toro finally gives them a chance to watch a special trailer for his upcoming sci-fi "Pacific Rim" that was debuted at WonderCon last month. The promo video offers a slight detail of the plot and new clash scenes between the Jaegers and the Kaijus that are indeed "2.500 tons of awesome" as said in the trailer, AceShowbiz revealed.

"Alien life. They came from deep beneath the Pacific...they counted on the humans to hide; to fail. They never considered we'd rise to the challenge," says Charlie Hunnam in a voiceover. As expected, the humans prove they are up for the challenge as their Jaeger is seen bashing a monstrous alien with an oil tanker to completely defeat the sea creature.

In addition to the epic battle, the trailer takes a closer look at Charlie Day's character Dr. Newton Geiszler, described as a "hipster scientist."

"Pacific Rim" revolves around a washed up former pilot named Raleigh Antrobus and an untested trainee called Mako Mori. Together, they drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past.

They stand as mankind's last hope when legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, start rising from the sea and aim to take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end.

Hunnam plays Raleigh Antrobus, while "Babel" star Rinko Kikuchi portrays Mako Mori. Also joining the leads is Idris Elba, who stars as General Stacker Pentecost. The film will hit theaters across the United States on July 12.
