Microsoft completes Hotmail upgrade to Outlook.comMay 3, 2013 - 16:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft has completed its Hotmail upgrade to Outlook.com, Digital Spy revealed. The migration means that Outlook now has 400 million active accounts, it said in a blog post. Outlook.com only had 60 million active accounts when it came out of preview mode in February, while Hotmail still had over 300 million. Microsoft spent around six weeks moving the final accounts across - including their calendars, contacts, folders and personal preferences - and followed this with a final few weeks to ensure all was completed correctly. "We've been focused throughout the upgrade on ensuring that every customer has a great experience. We've been overwhelmed with the response so far, based on the comments we've received," the company explained. The company also revealed it is rolling out two new features - SMTP send, making it easier to send mail from different email addresses, and deeper integration with SkyDrive.
