Barev Yerevan bloc must keep city council seats – member

Barev Yerevan bloc of parties must represent not only its own voters but all the opposition supporters, the bloc’s candidate for the city council elections said.

Armen Martirosyan told May 7 press conference that bloc committed no violations to pass the election threshold.

Dwelling on the citizens taking election bribes, he noted high poverty rates as the main reason behind the city residents’ decision.

“The bloc will discuss its seats in the council following the election recount. I think it will be correct to retain our seats as it will help us solve a number of problems. We mustn’t evade responsibility,” Mr. Martirosyan said.

As for the cooperation with Prosperous Armenia in the city council, he urged the party first to decide on its political orientation.

It’s noteworthy that Barev Yerevan urged for election recount in 100 electoral districts.
