Baku's Aggressive Statements Do Not Contribute To Karabakh Conflict Settlement
The whole range of issues referring to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement was considered during the meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, NKR President Arkady Ghukasian told journalists in Yerevan upon completion of the meeting with the OSCE MG mediators. "Our approaches have not changed, our position in known. I expressed my concern over the aggressive statements by the Azerbaijani leadership, since they do not contribute to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process and undermine the efficiency of the talks," the NKR leader stated. He also added that no written proposals were produced by the mediators. "There are only variations on some issues," he noted. "Presently the Presidents and FMs of Armenia and Azerbaijan are trying to find common ground. It means that the negotiation format may change and the issues concerning Nagorno Karabakh will be presented to the parties and mediators. Decision of any issue just as the settlement of the conflict is impossible without our participation," he said.

When touching upon temporary inclusion of Stepanakert in the negotiation process the NKR President noted that "Karabakh became a party of the negotiation process long ago, however presently no talks are held within the framework of the Minsk MG." In his words, difficulties emerge when Azerbaijan says it will not negotiate with Karabakh and the mediators can nothing but accept the ultimatum comprehending however that without NKR this problem cannot be resolved. . "I told the mediators that if official Baku really wished to settle the conflict it would hold talks with Karabakh and take steps for creating the atmosphere of mutual trust," NKR President resumed.
