Google CEO reveals mystery of his voice troubles

PanARMENIAN.Net - Google CEO Larry Page has revealed the mystery surrounding his recent voice troubles, The Wall Street Journal says.

In a blog post, Page gave a full explanation as to his condition, which started about 14 years ago and has led to him losing his voice and even skipping last year’s annual meeting. Page said he was diagnosed with “left vocal cord paralysis,” which causes his left vocal cord to not move properly. In 2003 he was also diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, “a fairly common benign inflammatory condition of the thyroid which causes me no problems,” he wrote.

Despite all that, Page says his work hasn’t been affected. “I’m fully able to do all I need to at home and at work, though my voice is softer than before,” he says in a post on his Google+ profile.

Page’s condition has worried the collective tech world and Google investors, given that the 2011 death of Apple CEO Steve Jobs following his health troubles was still fresh on everyone’s minds. Until now, Google and Page have remained mum on his condition. Page has been on earnings calls to discuss the company, though he often speaks in short sentences and stops to take a breath often.
