The Economist: Package-Stepwise Solution Most Probable in Karabakh Settlement
The research team of the Economist supposes within next two years Armenia will continue pursuing complementary policy, working to keep the parity of relations with the US, Russia, the EU and Iran. British edition analysts consider progress is registered in the talks over settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict to attain a solution acceptable to Armenia and Azerbaijan. Most probable option of the settlement of the Karabakh issue, in the opinion of the analysts, is package-stepwise. In that case Armenia will return 6 out of 7 «occupied» regions to Azerbaijan, then a referendum will be held in the Nagorno Karabakh within 10-15 years to decide its status. The research team also supposes that «international peacekeeping forces will be situated in the conflict zone and these will include contingents from OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries.»
