Apple to roll out iPad 5 after iPhone 5S launch – report

Apple's iPad 5 will launch after the iPhone 5S, a new report has suggested, according to Digital Spy.

Asian tech blog Macotakara (via Trusted Reviews) claims that the heavily-rumoured tablet will release in time for Christmas, but not during September as previously expected.

Its launch will be preceded by the release of the iPhone 5S.

Sources suggest that the device will be capable of making and receiving telephone calls thanks to the addition of an integrated microphone and a cellular compatible SIM port.

New colours are said to include navy blue, gold and grey.

It is believed to be 33% thinner and lighter than its predecessor, but will keep its 2048 x 1536 Retina display by using a thinner 0.2mm piece of glass.

Apple will reportedly produce 2 million to 3 million units for launch, with LG Display, Samsung Display and Sharp all expected to be supplying display panels for the iPad 5.
