Azerbaijan's Positions on Karabakh Issue Gradually Weaken, Baku Politicians Consider
Azerbaijani political parties welcomed the statement by the Karabakh Liberation Organization (KLO) on the talks held between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The functionaries stated they support every initiative meeting Azerbaijan's interests, KLO head Akif Nagi stated. To remind, the KLO initiated a meeting with the party leaders to discuss the issues referring to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. Nagi also informed a round table discussion with the participation of representatives of many parties is expected.

The KLO leader stated that the Karabakh conflict is a national problem and the pro-governmental and opposition parties should launch a joint struggle to settle the conflict within the international norms. Akif Nagi said the current situation does not meet Azerbaijan's interests. In his words, serious measures should be taken since Azerbaijan's positions are weakening and the situation has reached a critical point. According to Nagi, the government should inform the society of the proposals, which are being put forth, otherwise the situation can deteriorate. He also said "Armenia should stand trial for the seizure of the Azeri lands and then continue the talks." In the KLO head's opinion, if this doesn't happen he Azerbaijani government should liberate the "seized" lands by force and "restore the territorial integrity of the country." He said the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group cannot be rated as satisfactory since no single international organization has not undertaken any concrete steps to resolve the problem. "On the contrary, these organizations supported the Armenian party and claimed concessions not from Armenia but from Azerbaijan."

Akif Nagi noted that several proposals including collection of signatures will be discussed at the round table. He said they have worked out an action plan for the near future. The plan provides for conduction of talks at various levels and organization of events. "The activities of the OSCE Minsk Group should be stopped since the Co-Chairs hold negotiations doomed to failure. We cannot overlook it. We are ready to everything possible and impossible for the liberation of Karabakh. There is no Azerbaijan without Karabakh," the 525th newspaper reported.
