Armenia joins Convention on Transit Trade of Landlocked StatesMay 29, 2013 - 12:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Permanent Representative to the UN Karen Nazarian passed the documents on joining the conventions on Transit Trade of Landlocked States and Freedom of Transit to the UN Secretary-General. The conventions provide for free transit for landlocked countries, which is an important principle for their economic development and equal trade relations. Among Armenia’s neighbors Georgia and Turkey earlier joined the Convention on Transit Trade of Land-locked Countries, with Iran joining the convention on Freedom of Transit.
