Slovakia honorary consul appointed UNICEF Envoy for Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The honorary consul of the Slovak Republic in Armenia Gagik Martirosyan was appointed the UNICEF National Ambassador.

As the UNICEF representative in Armenia Henriette Ahrens stressed during the appointment ceremony, Mr Martirosyan had always offered help in solving the children’s issues, while investing in the programs aimed at saving the lives of newborns, protection of children’s rights and outreach to disabled children. “Mr Martirosyan’s activity is a message to the businessmen of Armenia and Diaspora, signaling that protection of children’s rights in an important contribution for a stable future,” she said.

Mr Martirosyan, in turn, thanked UNICEF for his appointment, pledging to continue his work towards integrating disabled children in the society and promoting children’s welfare.

Through Mr Martirosya’s investments, UNICEF was able to provide neonatal departments in maternity hospitals of remote Armenian villages with modern equipment, as well as conduct actions aimed at the development of children, and integration of disabled children into public schools.

In conclusion, Ms Ahrens expressed hope for Mr Martirosyan to continue cooperation with UNICEF in mobilization of Armenian and Diaspora entrepreneurs for participation in programs aimed at protection of children’s’ rights.
