Michael Jackson daughter attempts suicide

PanARMENIAN.Net - The teenage daughter of the late pop music icon Michael Jackson was rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital early Wednesday, June5 after an alleged suicide attempt, RIA Novosti reported citing US celebrity news program Entertainment Tonight.

Paris Jackson, 15, was “rushed to the hospital with cuts on her wrist in the early morning hours,” the program reported Wednesday, citing the girl’s mother, Debbie Rowe, with whom she reportedly recently reconciled after a period of estrangement.

The purported suicide attempt followed an argument over an upcoming concert Jackson wanted to attend, several media outlets quoted a source close to the family as saying. It was not immediately clear with whom the girl quarreled.

“Paris ‘threw a fit’ after she was told she couldn’t go to a Marilyn Manson concert. We’re told she ran into her room screaming and slammed the door,” the US entertainment website TMZ reported.

Several messages were posted to Paris Jackson’s Twitter account late Tuesday indicating to her more than 1 million followers that she was having problems. One Tweet early Wednesday read: “yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they’re here to stay.”

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to RIA Novosti that it responded to a medical situation at a home – which US media outlets said matched the Jackson family address – at 1:27 a.m. PDT (0827 GMT) and transported a patient at the home to an area hospital.

“Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention,” Paris’ grandmother, Katherine Jackson, said in a statement released to several media outlets.
