Only 9 % of Armenia’s disabled people employed

PanARMENIAN.Net - Participants of Cooperation 2013 international marathon for people with disabilities met on June 8 with Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan.

Minister Asatryan said the number of disabled people in Armenia totals 180 000, with only 9% of them employed. For this reason practical amendments are made to the law allowing for solutions to the employment problem.

“All the organizations with over 100 employees must include at least 1% disabled people among the employees. The organizations reluctant to meet the demand will be forced to pay certain amount of money,” Minister Asatryan said.

The marathon participants later staged flashmob in Northern Avenue.
