Karlovy Vary Fest to honor Travolta with lifetime achievement awardJune 18, 2013 - 16:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, central Europe’s leading movie showcase, upped its star power Tuesday when it announced that John Travolta will attend the festival for a gala screening of Mark Steven Johnson’s Killing Season, The Hollywood Reporter said. The two-time Oscar nominee famed for his performances in Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Pulp Fiction, The Taking of Pelham 1,2,3 and a raft of other international box office hits, will also receive the festival’s prestigious Crystal Globe lifetime achievement award. The festival, held in a famous Bohemian spa town a two-hour drive from the Czech capital, Prague, has forged a reputation in the last 15 years for attracting top Hollywood talent to its red carpet events. Past Crystal Globe winners include Robert De Niro, whom Travolta stars alongside in Killing Season, actress, Dame Judi Dench, director John Boorman, and actress Susan Sarandon, Robert Redford, Michael Douglas and Czech-born director Milos Forman, among others.
