Greek Orthodox Church Censured Destruction of Armenian Monuments
The Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church and Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens and All Greece expressed protest on the occasion of destruction of Armenian monuments in Nakhichevan. «Destruction of holy places and monuments is a black page of the human history. Actions like those violate basic principles of tolerance and peaceful co-existence of peoples,» says the message of the Holy Synod, which also accused «the superpowers and international organization in being passive and inefficient in defending human rights of vulnerable peoples.»
