The actresses play two BFF moms in Australia who develop sexual relationships with each other's teenage sons, played by Ben Mendelsohn and Xavier Samuel. Anne Fontaine ("Coco Before Chanel") directed the film from a screenplay by Oscar-winner Christopher Hampton, who adapted a short story written by Nobel Prize-winning author Doris Lessing. Exclusive Releasing, which picked up the U.S. rights to the film after it premiered at Sundance this year, will release "Adore" in theaters and VOD on Sept. 6.
