Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters has unveiled an international trailer, Digital Spy said.

The video reveals more about the threat facing Percy (Logan Lerman), Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario) and Grover (Brandon T Jackson) in the sequel to The Lightning Thief.

Their enemy Luke (Jake Abel) returns in an attempt to revive Cronus, the leader of the Titans who preceded the Olympians as the gods of the Earth.

The trio must travel to the Bermuda Triangle to uncover the Golden Fleece - the only thing that can help them prevent disaster.

Nathan Fillion, Stanley Tucci, Douglas Smith, Leven Rambin, Missi Pyle, Yvette Nicole Brown and Mary Birdsong will also feature in the latest adaptation of Rick Riordan's series of novels.

Thor Freudenthal (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) has taken over directing duties from Chris Columbus for the sequel to the 2010 film.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters will arrive in cinemas on August 7.
