Steven Soderbergh’s Behind the Candelabra has been selected to open the Deauville American Film Festival, which runs from Aug. 30 to Sept. 8 in Deauville, France. The movie’s stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon are expected to attend the festival, at which Soderbergh will give a master class Aug. 31, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The festival also is planning a tribute honoring producer Gale Anne Hurd, who launched her producing career in 1984 with Terminator. Her film credits include Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Armageddon, The Incredible Hulk, Aeon Flux and The Punisher. She currently serves as executive producer of the hit AMC series The Walking Dead.

The festival also announced that French actress Valerie Donzelli will serve as president of the Cartier Revelation Jury.

The festival is once again partnering with the Producers Guild of America and France’s Association of Cinema Producers in collaboration with the Ile de France Film Commission to organize the third Franco-American industry forum Sept. 2.
