"The Crow" cartoonist signs on for Luke Evans remake

PanARMENIAN.Net - James O'Barr has signed on to work on Relativity Media's remake of The Crow.

The cartoonist, who created the original comic in 1989, will be promoting the upcoming film at San Diego Comic-Con International with director F Javier Gutierrez, Digital Spy reported citing Variety.

Fast and Furious 6 actor Luke Evans will take the title role as the man who rises from the grave to avenge the murder of himself and his lover.

Brandon Lee starred in the 1994 movie and was famously killed after being accidentally shot with live ammunition on set.

"It is important for Crow fans to understand that Relativity, Javier, Luke and the entire team are working on a new adaptation of the book itself," said O'Barr.

"I believe that this movie will stand alongside Brandon and his film as a valid work of art, and I look forward to collaborating on the project."
