PanARMENIAN.Net - Director Stephen Daldry has secured two Hollywood stars to be featured in his next project. As AceShowbiz revealed citing Deadline, the "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" helmer has got Oscar nominee Rooney Mara and Golden Globe winner Martin Sheen attached to "Trash", from Working Title Films, PeaPie Films and 02 Filmes.

"The Social Network" actress Mara is on board the production to play Olivia, an NGO worker. As for Sheen, the President depicter on "The West Wing" is tapped to take on the role of Father Juilliard in the movie about three poverty-stricken boys "who discover something unusual, mysterious and dangerous in a city dump in the Third World-set story."

Newcomers Rickson Tevez, Eduardo Luis and Gabriel Weinstein are signed on to play the three boys. Wagner Moura of "Elysium" and Selton Mello of "The Clown" are also included in the cast for supporting roles.

Kris Thykier, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will serve as producers for the big-screen version of Andy Mulligan's 2010 novel. "Notting Hill" scribe Richard Curtis will provide the screenplay. The film is expected to start shooting in Rio de Janeiro early next month and scheduled to open in May 2014.

Mara will next be seen in "Her", while Sheen will reprise his role as Uncle Ben in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2".
