Metallica set for debut appearance at Comic-Con

PanARMENIAN.Net - Heavy metal veterans Metallica are set to make their debut at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. The band will be sitting in a panel Q&A session to promote their upcoming 3D film "Metallica Through the Never" and performing live afterwards in an intimate concert at a still undisclosed location all on July 19, AceShowbiz said.

"You've heard us use the word 'first' a few times this year and we're back with a truly unusual, unbelievably exciting first for us - Comic-Con, San Diego here we come!" the thrash masters announced on their website. Comic-Con hosts film, television and comic book fans from all over the globe.

Sitting together with band members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo for the Hall H 6P.M. Q&A are the film's director/writer Nimrod Antal and producer Charlotte Huggins as well as actor Dane DeHaan, who stars as the roadie in the narrative portions of the movie, which hits theatres on September 27. Starring and written by the iconic metal band, it splices footage from their Canada concert with a fictional narrative following the misadventures of the band's roadie.

After showing the trailer, poster and footage from the film for the fans in attendance at the Q&A, the band will then disclose the secret location for the private concert they will be playing, with tickets to the show to be given away as well. As the band stated in their announcement, "We can't just talk about the film when we are in San Diego...we want to play too!" and "have some fun and hit the stage."
