Russian-Azeri Military and Technical Cooperation Not Threat to Armenia
Strengthening of the Russian-Azeri military and technical cooperation does not threaten Armenia, head of Armenia's Armed Forces general staff, colonel general Mikayel Harutyunyan stated, when commenting on the agreement between Russian and Azeri Presidents, reached in Baku, to cooperate in the field. «The decision in question is a domestic affair of the two states,» he remarked. Speaking of the forming of the air defense system in Turkey, Harutyunyan said it is a domestic affair of that republic. «Giving any assessments to their actions would not be correct,» he said.

Harutyunyan added Armenia would like to see the Armenian-Turkish border open, which will provide an opportunity to use transport communications with Europe. To remind, February 21 the Turkish Government approved allocation of $800 million for a national air defense system.
