Pyunik vs. Žalgiris in 2013/14 UEFA Europa League 2nd qualifying round

The first and second qualifying round draws for the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League took place in Nyon.

The reward for the winners of the first round ties – which concluded with tonight's second-leg action – was a place in the second qualifying round on July 18 and 25. European Champion Clubs' Cup winners in 1991, FK Crvena zvezda were perhaps the most notable team drawn to start in the second qualifying round and they will encounter ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar, victorious against HB Tórshavn. Part-timers Prestatyn Town FC, shock penalty shoot-out winners against SK Liepājas Metalurgs, will now meet HNK Rijeka.

Armenia’s FC Pyunik will play against VMFD Žalgiris (Lithuania).

Meanwhile, Rosenborg BK, who overcame Crusaders FC, will meet Saint Johnstone FC of Scotland. FC Rubin Kazan will kick off their attempt to reach the Turin final against Serbia's FK Jagodina next week, while R. Standard de Liège stand between another of tonight's winners KR Reykjavík and the third qualifying round. IFK Göteborg, who belied their underdog status by lifting the UEFA Cup under Sven-Göran Eriksson in both 1982 and 1987, tackle FK AS Trenčín from Slovakia.

Armenian GM Sergei Movsesian took the first prize with the 100 percent result: 11 points out of 11 at the blitz tournament that was held in Banska Stiavnica, Slovakia. Movsesian was 2,5 points ahead his nearest rival - GM Mikulas Manik (Slovakia).
