Artashes Tumanyan Relieved of Post of Armenian President's Administration HeadFebruary 24, 2006 - 19:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian leader Robert Kocharian signed a decree on relieving Artashes Tumanyan of the post of Armenian President's Administration Head due to his own written request, the Press Service of the Armenian leader told PanARMENIAN.Net Lately Artashes Tumanyan founded New Country Party. The Party program notes, «our prospective goal is Armenia's membership in the EU before 2015.» It also says the country needs speeding-up of respect of basic freedoms and rights of each citizen. Public accord and progress, welfare and spiritual awakening can only be reached by means of unquestioning fulfillment of important democratic principles and laws. To reach these goals the party suggests transferring to proportional electoral system, provide for media independence and security. The project also suggests canceling stepwise system of income tax.
