“50 Shades of Grey” author talks bestseller’s film adaptationJuly 23, 2013 - 18:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 50 Shades of Grey author EL James has spoken about the director of the upcoming movie adaptation Sam Taylor-Johnson, Digital Spy said. The writer described Taylor-Johnson as "incredibly talented", adding that she "understands" her work. When asked why the British director was chosen, she told Vulture at San Diego Comic-Con: "Actually, it's not just me! Everybody keeps asking, 'Why did you decide?' It wasn't just me! There's a huge friggin' studio behind this." She continued: "That's the wonderful thing about doing it this way, is you compile a team who really know what they're doing, who are incredibly talented, and you listen to what they have to say." James added that she was "blown away" when she watched Taylor-Johnson's previous work. "I saw both of her films, and I was blown away. Simple. She's creative, incredibly talented, she's got an extraordinary eye. She had a good idea about the whole Fifty experience, she understands it. "And I thought, 'There's a woman I can go and get drunk with' [laughs]." No cast details for the upcoming film have been announced yet, despite rumours of a high-profile announcement at Comic-Con over the weekend. Fifty Shades of Grey has been confirmed to be released on August 1, 2014 in US cinemas, with international details to be revealed soon.
