Samsung to hold developers conference in October

Samsung has announced that it will hold a developers conference in San Francisco this October, Digital Spy said.

The move sees the South Korean firm become the first Android phone maker to hold an event of this kind, with Google's I/O traditionally serving as the main event on the Android calendar.

The conference is expected to serve a similar purpose to Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference, where new products and software are often unveiled.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other industry professionals, collaborate with fellow developers and learn about Samsung's latest hardware and services.

Samsung is yet to announce how much tickets to the event will cost, but has confirmed that registration will open soon.

The event will take place between October 27 and 29 in San Francisco.
