LG rolls out quad HD highest resolution mobile display

PanARMENIAN.Net - LG has announced what has to be the highest resolution mobile display ever made. The 2566 x 1440 5.5-inch panel is four times the resolution of a HD TV, Digital Spy said.

The end result is a pixel density of 538ppi, which puts high resolution smartphones like the Galaxy S4 and HTC One to shame.

LG claims this is the highest pixels per inch of any mobile display created.

So high is the resolution, that we can't really see how the human eye would be able to notice a difference over already ultra sharp 1080p smartphones.

LG Display explains that it results in "more delicate colours" and better contrast. The panel is also incredibly thin, 12% thinner than LG's current stock HD smartphone panels.

Whether or not this Ultra HD panel ever makes its way to the mass market remains to be seen.

In terms of real-world benefit, beyond LG's claimed colour improvements, we can only see the display helping keep text sharp after you have zoomed in.
