Madonna tops Forbes list of highest-paid celebritiesAugust 27, 2013 - 10:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Madonna is still living in the material world. In fact, now more so than ever. The "Ray of Light" singer tops Forbes' newly published list of highest-paid celebrities for 2013, raking in an estimated $125 million between June 2012 and June 2013, TheWrap said. That put the singer above Steven Spielberg, who took second place with $100 million, and "X Factor" honcho Simon Cowell, who had an estimated $95 million haul (which tied with "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James and radio personality Howard Stern). The 55-year-old singer's second-best haul on the annual Forbes list was in 2009, when she took in $110 million. According to Forbes, Madonna's first-place showing wasn't so much due to her most recent album, "MDNA," which sold fewer units than her previous album, "Hard Candy," but rather because of the accompanying tour, which grossed $305 million, Forbes said.
