Sigourney Weaver to reteam with Ridley Scott for “Exodus”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Sigourney Weaver is set to reteam with director Ridley Scott for 20th Century Fox's tentpole Exodus, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Weaver, who launched her film career with a starring role in Scott's 1979 sci-fi classic Alien, has signed on to play Tuya, mother of Ramses (Joel Edgerton). Christian Bale will star as Moses in the biblical epic, which is scheduled to begin shooting in September in Spain, Morocco and England.

Aaron Paul is in negotiations to play a supporting role as a Hebrew slave. John Turturro has also signed on to play the husband of Weaver's character.

Steve Zaillian wrote the current draft, while Adam Cooper and Bill Collage penned a previous version.

Peter Chernin, who bought the project as a pitch, is producing alongside Scott.

Weaver recently finished her run in the Tony-winning Broadway play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. The three-time Oscar nominee is a favorite of the studio as well, having starred in Fox's Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time. She is nominated for an Emmy for her starring role on Political Animals.
