Directors Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco confirmed the news this morning to ComingSoon.net during an interview to promote the home video release of the original, the entertainment news agency said. "There's not much to talk about yet," says Sanders of the next adventure, "because we've got a big lump of clay and we're forming it as we speak." What is certain, however, is that both men aim to make the sequel to The Croods every bit as colorful as the original. "[There will be] lots of good creatures," DeMicco promises. "We've got creatures that never got into the first movie. We're going to take a very, very close look at those." According to Digital Spy, The Croods has taken in over $585 million (£372m) at the worldwide box office since its release in March. Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman also starred in the comedy, which followed a caveman family learning to survive in a stone age world.
