Asus rolls out new PadFone Infinity smartphone with Snapdragon 800

PanARMENIAN.Net - Asus has released its latest smartphone, the new PadFone Infinity, Digital Spy said.

The device features the new Snapdragon 800 at 2.2GHZ, an upgrade from the previous model, which ran on Snapdragon 600.

According to Pocket-lint, unlike its predecessor which had an internal storage space of up to 64GB, the Infinity only goes up to 34GB.

However, the drop in internal storage space has been compensated for with an SD card reader, allowing users to store extra content on the phone.

The new Infinity's camera has received an upgrade. It now boasts 13 megapixels on the rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. In a similar vein to the HTC One, the device uses ultrapixel technology, except Asus has named its own version of the technology PixelMaster.

The phone, which runs on Android Jellybean 4.2, will be available in 'platinum white' or 'titanium black', and will be backwards compatible with accessories made for previous generations of the device.

The 16GB PadFone Infinity will cost the Taiwanese equivalent of £430, whilst the 34GB model will be £447.

Asus has not yet confirmed any details of the phone's release or price outside of Taiwan.
