Apple mulling discount for iPhone 5C: reportOctober 16, 2013 - 12:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Apple is reportedly considering a potential discount for its iPhone 5C handset, according to Digital Spy. According to Jessicalessin.com, the Cupertino firm has hinted at a possible reduction for the device to its analysts and investors. Sources claim company executives have referred to some "behind the curtain" solutions to cut the price of the iPhone 5C before a new model comes out. The news follows reports that production of the iPhone 5C is being halved amid poor sales. Pre-orders for the device were also apparently one-tenth of previous iPhone launches, while Apple released no information about pre-order numbers as in previous years. So far the company has only revealed that 9 million iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C units were sold in the first three days, omitting a breakdown of sales for each device. Stock levels through the Apple Store suggest that the iPhone 5S is in greater demand with a two-to-three-week wait predicted, while the iPhone 5C can be delivered within 24 hours.
