"South Park" misses deadline for 1st time in 13-year history over blackout

PanARMENIAN.Net - "South Park" blew a deadline for the first time in its 13-year history. Series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were unable to finish a planned episode for Wednesday, October 16 titled "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers" due to power outage, AceShowbiz said.

Comedy Central announces, "From animation to rendering to editing and sound, all of their computers were down for hours and they were unable to finish episode 1704 'Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers' in time for air tonight."

A rerun of 2001's episode "Scott Tenorman Must Die" airs in place of "Goth Kids 3". "Goth Kids 3" is now scheduled to air next Wednesday.

Unlike most other animated series which are written several months in advance, "South Park" episodes have been produced six days before air to keep it topical. Parker says, "It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen."

The "South Park" team has shared night vision photos during the blackout in the studio through its official production blog.
