Yerevan to host AgroForum in Rural Worker Day celebration framework

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended the opening of ArmProd Expo 2013 exhibit Friday, October 17. The event will last through October 20, the Rural Worker Day.

Mergelyan Institute of Mathematical Machines hosted the event, featuring production of 50 companies manufacturing alcoholic beverages, mineral water and fruit juices, canned vegetables, dairy, meat and fish products, dried fruit, pastries and coffee, and other foodstuffs, as well as companies providing packaging and laboratory services, with agriculture equipment also exhibited at the event.

The first ArmProd Expo international exhibit was held in 2001, with the event organizers aiming to assess competitiveness of products featured, present advanced technologies and new products, expand export opportunities and establish new business contacts.

Armenia will also be hosting an AgroForum in the framework of the Rural Worker Day.

The government of Armenia forecasted a 5% growth in agriculture, with a 5,6% agriculture production increase posted during the first 7 month of 2013. A 1,6% was reported in manufacturing of meat and dairy products.
