Channing Tatum poised to topline, produce “Bad Romance”November 1, 2013 - 10:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Channing Tatum is in early talks to star in and produce Bad Romance for MGM, The Hollywood Reporter said. 50/50 helmer Jonathan Levine will direct from a screenplay he is writing. If a deal comes together, Tatum would produce Bad Romance with his Iron Horse Entertainment partner Reid Carolin. As of late, Tatum has been expanding his producing efforts. He also is onboard to star in and produce a film about '70s daredevil Evel Knievel for Columbia Pictures. Tatum will produce that film with Carolin, who is writing the screenplay. (Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti also are producing.) Thanks to a string of hits including 21 Jump Street, The Vow and the semi-autobiographical ode to the male stripper, Magic Mike, Tatum has become one of Hollywood's most in-demand actors. But he continues to move around genres, from the actioner White House Down to Andy and Lana Wachowski's futuristic Jupiter Ascending to Bennett Miller's drama Foxcatcher, based on Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz. Tatum, who is shooting the sequel 22 Jump Street, also voiced a role in Warner Bros.' upcoming Lego Movie. Since his breakout The Wackness, Levine also has become a hot director with talent. That film, which starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen, drew critical acclaim and was a Golden Globe best picture nominee.
