Nick Eversman cast as Mick Jagger in James Brown biopic

Nick Eversman has been cast as Mick Jagger, the Rolling Stones frontman, who along with Brian Grazer, Erica Huggins and Victoria Pearman, is producing Get on Up, Universal and Imagine's biopic centering on James Brown, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Eversman, who has a recurring role on the CW series Tomorrow People, won the role with both an audition and by sending in a side-by-side comparison of himself and the real Jagger. Eversman also sent in a recording he did for HBO's TV movie Cinema Verite in which he sang the Stones' classic Time Is on My Side.

The movie, directed by The Help's Tate Taylor and starring Chadwick Boseman as the Godfather of Soul, traces Brown's rise from humble beginning to stardom to through his eventual drug-fueled downfall. The story at one point calls for a young Brown to engage with a young Jagger at a concert where Brown becomes enraged.

Most of the movie has been cast, as its currently shooting in Atlanta; Eversman now joins Viola Davis, Dan Aykroyd, Octavia Spencer and Craig Robinson, among others on the roll call.

Eversman, who was a regular on NBC's Ashley Judd starrer Missing, also booked a part opposite Reese Witherspoon in Fox Searchlight's drama Wild.
