Netflix updates Android app to introduce multi-profile support

Netflix has updated its Android app to introduce support for multiple profiles, Digital Spy said.

Users will now receive personalised recommendations and libraries when they log into the on-demand service.

The move follows a major update to Netflix's TV-based service, which unified the platform's user interface across multiple devices.

The new layout is designed to help subscribers discover relevant content, with improved personalised social and recommendation algorithms that make it clearer why a film or TV show is being suggested.

Platforms including including the PlayStation 4, PS3, Roku 3, Xbox 360, and a range of smart TVs and Blu-ray players have already received the upgrade.

Support for multi-user profiles had already been introduced to other mobile platforms, including iOS devices.

The Android version of Netflix is available as a free download from Google Play.
