Google Glass update lets users take photos by winkingDecember 19, 2013 - 17:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Google has added wink functionality to its Google Glass headset, allowing users to take photographs using only their eyes, according to Digital Spy. The command will work even when the device's display is switched off, and is said to be faster than pressing the camera button or issuing a voice order. Google also envisions that wink commands could have other potential uses in the future, such as carrying out transactions. "Imagine a day where you're riding in the back of a cab and you just wink at the meter to pay," said the firm in a blog post. "You wink at a pair of shoes in a shop and your size is shipped to your door. You wink at a cookbook recipe and the instructions appear right in front of you - hands-free, no mess, no fuss". Google Glass Explorers, the name given to users who shelled out $1,500 to take part in the product's beta programme, were invited to swap their headsets for an incrementally updated model earlier this month. Google will launch a consumer edition of Google Glass with a lower price tag next year.
