Divergent has released its first clip, Digital Spy said.

Stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James feature in a scene from the upcoming Neil Burger film.

Four (James) shows Tris (Woodley) his tattoo in the clip.

Based on the first book in Veronica Roth's young adult series, the film is set in a future where everyone is forced into one of five factions when they reach maturity.

Tris discovers that she is divergent - a person who does not fit into one single faction - and uncovers a plot to destroy her kind.
