BMW seeks to reinvent car fob with i8 keyDecember 21, 2013 - 10:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - BMW has developed a futuristic car fob that could reinvent the way motorists access and monitor their vehicles, according to Digital Spy. The BMW i8 hybrid electric car will come with a key fob that sports its own high-resolution LCD screen for relaying information such as how much charge the vehicle has remaining. The key fob is expected to charge when plugged into the vehicle, and communicate with it via low-energy Bluetooth. BMW has not confirmed the key concept, but an image of the gizmo was leaked to BimmerFile by a source purportedly connected to the automaker. The BMW i8 is expected to go on sale next year for around $160,000.
